I Promise

My heart is thankful for a husband that is true to his word, keeps his promise to me and not a covenant breaker.  We have been married for 31 years, and this little church is a place we visited a couple of years ago to remind ourselves where it all began.  Two young hearts promising to love, honor and do life together..... forever!

Hebrews 10:19 And so, dear brothers and sisters,[f] we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. 20 By his death,[g] Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. 21 And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s house, 22 let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.  23 Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.  NLT

I have been born again for 42 years and God has never broken one promise to me ever!  When I have not understood the what or why of a situation gone horribly wrong, even after I prayed and sought God will all my heart, eventually I see clearly that other factors that have not been disclosed to me, can equally determine the outcome of certain situations.   Authority is relational, and every human spirit must seek the will of God for themselves.  You can not stop seeds that have been sown from growing and producing fruit.  Your prayers help, but prayers are not the only part of the equation in the will of God being done.   Covenant through union with God in Jesus Christ is the powerful personal first step in someone giving themselves to God and setting in motion a divine plan whereby the goodness and mercy of God flow freely into their lives.

Galatians 6:7 Don’t be misled—you cannot mock the justice of God. You will always harvest what you plant. 8 Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. 9 So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. NLT

God never breaks His promises, but we and our loved ones miss the mark, sowing seeds of strife, division, and even destruction.   Any disaster you encounter is not a "act of God!"  It is an "act of fallen man," missing the mark and letting sin reign; or an "act of evil," where Satan steals, kills, and destroys the ignorant, vulnerable and deceived.

passionately loved,

Pastor Wendy
