Isaiah 49:13-16 TLB 13 Sing for joy, O heavens; shout, O earth. Break forth with song, O mountains, for the Lord has comforted his people and will have compassion upon them in their sorrow. 14 Yet they say, “My Lord deserted us; he has forgotten us.” 15 “Never! Can a mother forget her little child and not have love for her own son? Yet even if that should be, I will not forget you. 16 See, I have tattooed your name upon my palm, and ever before me is a picture of Jerusalem’s walls in ruins.
Although we may feel abandoned at times by God, He never abandons His own. He goes as far to say in verse 16, that He tattooed our name on His palm. That communicates to me, His love for me is so deep it permanently marks Him. He is not ashamed of me, in fact, He is proud to display His love for me on His hands for all to see. If you can see God, you can see He has tattoos on His hands of every human spirit that has surrendered their lives to Him and become His child through the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. He is a proud papa!
In moments of great tragedy and sorrow, our feelings betray us. But it is in that precise moment when God has our picture ever before Him. When trouble and calamity strike, He is aware and see’s your situation. He looks at His hand and finds your name on His palm. He is moved with holy compassion to come to you with comfort that is not of this world. His comfort heals our wounds and restores our strength. He nurtures us perfectly in the good and the bad times. He is Abba Father, daddy God. It is simply impossible for Him to forget you.
love in Him,
