"But God is so rich in mercy, and He loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, He gave us life when He raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!) For He raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus." ~ Ephesians 2:4-6 (NLT)
You know the feeling! Can you hear it? The song begins with an intro of childlike simplicity, quickly moving toward tension and dissonance. There's a build up of chord-conflict and suspension. Finally, the beat "drops," the bass and drums kick in, and powerful emotion fills the air! It's at this point that I will often hit the restart button! Why? Because, like most humans, I love the sound and feeling of resolution!
We're born into this world at a dissonance. Our introduction to life on planet earth begins simple enough but quickly moves toward tension and conflict. As you experience surviving rather than thriving, there's strained suspension and worry about where your life will end up.
But God! In His timing and amazing grace, God's Spirit opens your eyes to see the Truth of Salvation found only in Jesus Christ. By faith, you open your heart and ask Jesus to be your Lord and Savior. At that moment, Resolution! Light overtakes the darkness! Calm commands order to the chaos and your life makes sense. Your fears have yielded to faith. Death is defeated by God's very own Life within you!
You will experience many more resolutions in your life. None will be the same as the moment of your salvation, but amazing, none the less. God will guide you through dissonance in situations; through tension in relationships. Though things will not always go according to how you would prefer, God's plan is to bring the resolution in your heart and mind.
He can accomplish resolution in your life, only as you trust Him and follow His lead.
