Home Court Advantage!

"Thus says the Lord: Because the Syrians have said, The Lord is God of the hills but He is not God of the valleys, therefore I will deliver all this great multitude into your hands, and you shall know and recognize by experience that I am the Lord." ~  1 Kings 20:28 (AMPC)

March Madness has reached my house!  My two dogs and I watch as many games as we can! Maybe you love College Hoops, as well.  You look forward to building your bracket and have high hopes for your team to be the National Champions!  Even though for this annual tournament, most teams play in neutral venues, some play close enough to home to give them the home court advantage.

College Basketball Experts reveal that, historically, home court advantage can secure a value of seven points by the final buzzer.  That is enough to win most games!

For the Redeemed, our home court advantage is the presence of God, with a shout of faith and the joy of the Lord (see Nehemiah 8:10)!  Our enemy wants to convince us that when we're in a valley, surrounded by trouble and shadows, he has the home court advantage.  Don't believe him! He'll spout, "Your God can help you when you're on the mountaintop, but when you're in the valley, you're on your own!"

Valleys are a part of our journey.  God promises, "Many are the afflictions of the righteous,
But the Lord delivers him out of them all." (Psalm 34:19)
He doesn't assign this promise to whether you're on top of the mountain or in a difficult valley!  He boldly affirms, "I will deliver you out of them all!"

Remember this:  If you welcome and honor God, wherever He is, on the mountaintop or in the valley, He is our Home Court Advantage!
