"My hands have made both heaven and earth; they and everything in them are Mine. I, the Lord, have spoken! I will bless those who have humble and contrite hearts, who tremble at My word." ~ Isaiah 66:2 (NLT)
If there's anyone that you need, to hear your heart's cry, it's God. He made you. He knows you. He, alone, holds your destiny and the greatest fulfillment of your precious life.
God made everything and can do anything. That doesn't mean that He will do "whatever" we ask of Him. He's a wise Father and a good God. As well, because He's the Almighty God, Creator of all things, we have only ourselves to offer Him. He has set important truths in place, for us to cooperate with; so that He can respond to our faith, not our flesh. These truths, defining our approach to God that are found in Isaiah 66 (Route 66), must be closely considered. Here are two vitals:
A humble and contrite heart is required to obtain an audience with God. Nothing other than an humble and contrite heart, offered in faith, is acceptable to God. He's not impressed with all that we have and all that we can do. He made everything, including us! "He gives more grace." Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” (James 4:6 NKJV) Here's a word that I heard as a teen that has helped me often,
Secondly, do you tremble at God's Word? To approach God with confidence, we must hold an indelible awe of God. This kind of Holy fear desires to honor God more than anything or anyone; including ourselves. This kind of reverence is willing to allow the Spirit of Truth to pull back the veil on secrets and strategies that don't please Him. The heart, to which God looks, has chosen His ways, His wisdom, His Unfailing Word! May we be among those whom God favors, as we posture our hearts before Him in faith!
