Learning What Pleases the Lord

"The fruit [the effect, the result] of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth), trying to learn [by experience] what is pleasing to the Lord [and letting your lifestyles be examples of what is most acceptable to Him—your behavior expressing gratitude to God for your salvation]."  ~  Ephesians 5:9-10 (Amplified)

Growing up, I had friends whose greatest effort toward their father was not to make him mad. Some of my friends were called names and cursed.  Some were hit with fists and driven away.  Most were under constant fear of upsetting their parents.  This overriding strain shaped a large part of their lives

I am immensely blessed with parents who loved me, nurtured me and always cast vision in my heart for a great life!  As a result of their enduring love, my heart was far more reaching to please them than to upset them.

As God's children, may our hearts lead us to learn what is pleasing to Him.  Rather than focusing on how not to upset Him, let's grow in our expression of gratitude and faith by actively pleasing Him!  This overriding heart posture will shape a large part of your life!
