The King and His Kingdom

I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent.” ~ Jesus Christ, Luke 4:43

The primary reason that Jesus came to the earth was to preach His Kingdom.  Therefore, it remains to be the primary assignment of His church.  We're not here to coddle our culture but rather to change it by the power of our Great God!  In a recent sermon I preached this utterance was given.  It greatly impacted my heart.  I believe that it bears repeating.

The Kingdom of God is a Kingdom of great...

PASSION  -  God loves His creation, mankind, more than we can fully embrace.  (John 3:16-17).  His passion required a great...

PRICE  -  Not with silver or gold nor with the blood of animals, but with His own blood Jesus Christ purchased our eternal redemption.  (Hebrews 9:12)  The price He willingly and faithfully paid caused the heart of His Father to release great...

POWER  -  As the price for salvation was met in the sacrificial, substitutionary death of the Lamb of God, the Father's heart was satisfied.  He then released His glorious power "disarming the rulers and authorities [those supernatural forces of evil operating against us], He made a public example of them [exhibiting them as captives in His triumphal procession], having triumphed over them through the cross." (Colossians 2:15 AMP)  As He raised Jesus Christ, the Son of Man, up from the grave, by the glory of God, He was empowered to obtain a great...

POSITION  -  God received His sacrifice on our behalf and highly exalted Him.  Jesus is given a name that is above all other names and is seated in Highest Authority at the right hand of God.  His position empowers Him to offer great...

PROMISES  -  As His followers pray in faith, Jesus said, "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you." (Matthew 7:7)  Every promise from God finds it's "Yes" and "Amen" in Christ    (2 Corinthians 1:20)  From His position of Authority and Righteousness He offers great...

PRIVILEGE  -  To be saved and found in Christ is to be "raised up together with Him, and made to sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus." (Ephesians 2:6) This is "far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come." (Ephesians 1:21) The follower of Jesus Christ is made to be His joint-heir to His Life, favor, blessing and righteousness.  This causes the Kingdom to endure great...

PERSECUTION  -  Jesus said, "Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 5:10)  Followers of Jesus Christ must consider themselves honored to bear any shame or persecution for the Lord Jesus Christ and the honor of His name. (Acts 5:41)  All of this divine work has been done so that we might carry out God's divine...

PURPOSE  -  We are no longer living for ourselves, our comforts or our own desires.  We belong to God and live as "a letter from Christ, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God...", (2 Corinthians 3:3) to reveal to our generation that Jesus Christ is Lord, Savior and God.  We live our lives in light of eternity.  (1 Corinthians 6:20)  If you'll live for Eternity you'll live for eternity!
