I Will Not Be Afraid!

Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be terrified or dismayed (intimidated), for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”  ~  Joshua 1:9 (AMP)

Five times in Chapter One, intentionally, directly and ardently God commands Joshua, “Be strong and courageous!  Do not be terrified or dismayed!”  He then declares to Joshua the foundation of such a command:  "The Lord your God is with you!"

Joshua’s relationship and reliability upon God was based on a Covenant.  Our God is a covenant minded and covenant keeping God!  He cannot lie.  He cannot fail.  He will not deny the faith of those who trust in Him.

The Covenant we have with God, through His Son Jesus Christ, is a “better Covenant with better promises," than what Joshua had.  (Hebrews 8:6)  Our covenant is living and powerful!  It’s held intact, in the presence of God for us, by the blood of The Lamb Himself!

Dear Friend, with all that’s going on in our world it’s easy to become afraid, overwhelmed and even dismayed.  Refuse. God has commanded you to be strong and courageous!  He, our Great Champion and Mighty Shepherd has promised to be with you wherever you go!  Boldly declare, “The Lord is my Helper, I will not be afraid!”
