Trust Proceeds Honor

We were in a very powerful Prophecy Conference this past week. I found one evening very sobering and realized to a greater degree that we as believers must totally trust God in these last days of national vulnerability to global threats and inward economic instability. Trust proceeds honor, or the value you place on a relationship. You cannot honor someone properly if you do not trust them.

We must keep God in His place of supreme honor in our lives where He is able to govern our hearts, which will always require us to trust Him. My trust for man has boundaries, but my trust for God should be marked with total abandon. We must continue to trust God enough to honor Him as our source of all hope, strength, and provision. It is comforting to me to know He is watching those who fear Him and hope in His love. He will deliver and keep us alive in the worst of circumstances if we keep our hearts strong in faith to continue to do what is honorable to Him first and alone. When He governs our hearts with His unfailing love, we can make the bold decisions in the face of all global, national, and local threats to live according to His grace, loyally taking risk with and for Him to expand and increase His kingdom in the earth.

We will return to the earth with Him to govern, rule and reign in His kingdom. Let us not draw back in fear, but press on fully persuaded that He is able to cause us to overcome this world glorifying Him with great trust, honor, faith, and joy.

Abracadabra

We used to play around as kids and say, “What’s the magic password to enter in?” The door keeper (playmate) would only open the gate of entry to us if we used the correct password. We would say something like, “Abracadabra” and our friend would open an invisible door or gate to the room or place in which we desired to enter. We were not really practicing witchcraft I assure you. We were imitating something we saw in a disney movie!

God has a magic password to enter His presence that is guarded by a gate. The gate only opens supernaturally with the correct password! The password is, “Thank You.” The gate into the outer court of His presence only opens when you give thanks to the God of your salvation. The gate does not open with questions, complaining, whining, or tears; it opens with heartfelt thanks for the blood that cleanses you, redeemed you, and qualifies you to come into His presence as His child.

How many people watch others go in, and just camp outside the gate in their grief and sorrow - perplexed, confused, drained, weary and sin conscious? Start giving thanks for your atonement for sin purchased through the shed blood of God’s only Son Jesus Christ. His anointing will free you from all those evil thoughts and toxic emotions, which only become heavy yokes of bondage that hold you back outside the gate and chained to your past failures.

Come Alive

I just returned from a vacation in my hometown of Shreveport Louisiana....y'all know what I’m talkin’ about. Fried Catfish, fried okra, crawfish and Southern Maid doughnuts! Yes we had it all at various times in our week!

My father has a rather large garden that was very dry. They have had an unusually dry and hot few weeks upon our arrival. He had been watering his garden, but had not had a good rain in a while, and much of what was left of his garden was drying up and dying.

My mother made a statement that has great insight into God’s ways and purposes. She said, “No matter how much we water our grass or garden during the dry spells, it does not accomplish that much. But let it rain and everything comes to life. The plants just come alive and turn green after a good rain. There are nutrients in the rain that are not in our water.”

Nothing will provide the human spirit with the much needed nutrients we need for life like the word of God. You can entertain, educate, and discipline yourself for hour upon hour, but if you do not get the rain of nutrients found only in God’s word, you will dry up and produce little meaningful fruit.

Notice in these verses we must listen and let God’s word water our lives with much needed nourishment. Listen to His word and let it reign and rule in your life through a receptive humble heart. It will cause you to bloom and blossom with life.

The Name of Jesus

I remember when I first had a true glimpse of the authority and power in the name of Jesus. My husband had fallen ill to a high fever and practically delirious. I knew in my heart, he would be healed and sickness could not stay in his body, if I prayed with faith in the name of Jesus. I laid my hands on Art and rebuked the sickness that was causing the fever in Jesus mighty name. In the spirit my eyes were open and I saw a red ball of fire race out of our bedroom! He was healed that night. I believe God let me see this to anchor me in the understanding that Jesus name has all power and authority when spoken or prayed in faith!

Last night (4/28/10) Pastor Art taught on the name of Jesus in our Wednesday night bible study, and it was awesome. If you missed it, you should listen to the recording. As a believer you have been given the name above all names, and you should understand the power and authority that belongs to you in Christ.

Sometimes we just need to say the name......Jesus.....Jesus....it causes the spirit realm to respond, and it will deliver you from the fog of unbelief if you release it in heartfelt faith. This name can silence the noisome pestilence, shut the mouth of lions, and bring you right into the presence of God. You see His name acknowledges the redemptive plan and work of God wrought for you in Christ. His name causes the heavens to respond, the earth to quake, and the human heart to have an encounter with God. Just sing the name, whisper the name, and boldly proclaim this powerful name!

Finally, God gave this name to His Son, and His Son gave the name to us. Don’t let the familiarity of this name ever cause you to doubt the power available to you in it again. Meditate on these scriptures and let God open your eyes to the authority and dominion you have in the spirit realm through the powerful name of Jesus.
